Part 89: Mission 50 - The Victors' Elegy
Location: Kalung Mutiara Island
Helena reports to Bähbem that contact has been lost with “them”; she presumes that after the long period of time spent dormant, the main unit’s fully regenerated. Bähbem isn’t too surprised, considering what they were dealing with – this was bound to happen and, now, this alliance became unnecessary.
What to do, then? Bähbem tells Helena to leave it be – “that man” has already more than served his purpose as a diversion. Besides, his plans are going so smoothly that he no longer needs it as a weapon of last resort. Helena seems bothered by his decision but Bähbem tells her not to be. There is already a deterrent in place to deal with the thing – the squadron Ollin was assigned to.
But that is not what’s important right now. Bähbem tells Helena to begin their preparations – her time has arrived. She reluctantly agrees...
Location: Near Earth
Cut to the Argama, Bright’s receiving intel that the Giganos lunar HQ has suddenly gone dark. And it’s not just there: communication with any structures in a wide radius of the place are out. Did Giganos remnants capture them? Quattro doesn’t think so, not only considering the abundance of Feds stationed around there after Moonraker but also the significant losses the Giganos suffered in Bagration. They couldn’t pull something like that.
Did some accident happen to cut the comms, then? Hmm. As we ponder, a transmission comes in from Prof. Kasshu at the La Vie En Rose… and he brings grave news. He tells Domon to listen carefully: not long ago, he received a request from the Federation to investigate some anomalies detected within the occupied Giganos territory.
Taking a look at data from recon pods, he’s figured out what happened. The entire region that’s gone silent has been taken over… by the Devil Gundam. Rain asks if he’s sure and, indeed, he’d recognize the energy readings anywhere. Domon and Rain don’t understand where the hell the Gundam itself had been hiding all this time considering we’d only run into his Kings and the Death Army.
Still, Raizou says they’ll need to figure that out later. The revived Devil Gundam’s at least as strong as it was before – if not more – and Raizou also has a very bad feeling about where it’s taken up residence. As everyone starts realizing what he means, Bright orders full speed to the Giganos HQ.
As we’re arriving in Giganos territory, Harry’s already receiving a video feed from still active bases about what’s going on… the Devil Gundam’s infected the Giganos Mass Driver.
DG Cells are covering the area from top to bottom, rebuilding the weapon completely – one of the worst possible things it could’ve jacked, Min grunts. Kyral dubs it the Devil Mass Driver, the union of two accursed weapons.
Maillot certainly didn’t expect the thing he’d destroyed at Guiltorre’s request to come back like that and Ruri orders everyone ready to deploy. We’re getting over there right now.

First wave of Death Army mooks are weaker than the rest, easily oneshottable.

This actually isn’t true, likely because Banpresto realized how easy it’d be to use that to rake in loadsa money. You’ll only get three waves of enemy reinforcements, after which they’ll simply stop coming.

Just enough to get morale for everyone.
Sent a couple of Supers to the east flank, Kazuya and the Mazinger wrecking a couple of Soldiers.
Hugo’s pretty much invincible here because there’s no way these mooks are popping his barrier.

And we get to control the Medius! Losing it is a game over but you REALLY need to screw up for that to happen.
Rush of nostalgia. Only needed Master Asia around to make it legit.
Crits mean things die, which is about half that group.
And from here on out it’s merely clean up. There are no more enemies spawning, so we’ll take the battered Death Army units down quickly.

Big, powerful boss – what else is there to say? He’s got S ranks in the important terrains, further boosting his accuracy and your need to pack defensive measures. The fight before this shouldn’t have taken a toll on your resources, so just swarm him. His bulkiness won’t help against our concentrated firepower and he’s got no tricks outside of being a heavy-hitter with good range.
Devil Gundam
Pilot Skills:

- 30% HP Regen
- Debuff Immunity
Same goes for the Devil Gundam proper, packing stats just as high as Ulube’s and with even greater accuracy. 30% HP regen is a lot, so don’t waste attacks until it’s go time.
Hits even harder (further boosted by its LL size) and with longer range than the Grand Master Gundam, too.

Over by Misumaru’s place, Genpachirou reports that they’ve confirmed the detected object passing by the Solar System’s eighth defensive line. Indeed, it’s the Gulfer homeworld and Misumaru is rather impressed that they were able to haul the thing all the way over here.
Genpachirou says that the thing’s very well camouflaged, so they moved in undetected until the people at the Hisago Plan’s terminal colonies could get an eyes-on confirmation. The homeworld’s course was also rather far away from the Martian and Jupiter Spheres, so that delayed its discovery. At least it also means those civilians weren’t attacked.
Still, Prospector notes, being past the eighth line means they’re between Mars and Earth – if nothing is done, they’ll reach here and invade. On that matter, Genpachirou says that the Fifth Space Corps Fleet was garrisoned on Mars, so they can help. Problem is, the Earth is still a mess thanks to the MU and Genpachirou is loath to take their troops away in case of a MU attack.
The Federation’s also busy assisting with TERRA’s plan, so… surprise, the better option is to have the Magnate Ten deal with the Gulfer homeworld. Prospector says Nergal’s got a prototype deep space booster that can be equipped on the non-Boson Jumping Nahel Argama to make for quite the speedy round trip to the Gulfer homeworld.
Meanwhile, Misumaru and Genpachirou will start coordinating with the Fifth Fleet.
